Abstract

|
Background
Japanese Society for Hyperthermic Oncology (JSHO) was organized in November,
1984. Tsutomu Sugahara, M.D.,Ph.D. was the first chairman of JSHO Board of Directors.
After Dr, Sugahara completed his term as chairman, Tadayoshi Matsuda, M.D. was
elected the second chairman in 1991 and then Yoshiaki Tanaka, M.D. from Nihon
University has been the third since 1995.
The first annual meeting was held by Dr. Sugahara in the same year as the
organization of JSHO in 1984. Since then, 13 senior members have been nominated to
President to preside over annual meeting. Motoharu Kondoh, M.D. from Kyoto Prefecture
Medical College is now President, and the 14th annual meeting will be held in Kyoto
this coming September, 1997.
